Hostel TV Series Dropped by Peacock

Peacock passed on Eli Roth’s planned Hostel series, but Roth says he still wants to develop the scripts into something.

Peacock has passed on the planned Hostel television series, according to Eli Roth, who said the streamer decided not to move forward with the project.[1][2] Roth said he and Chris Briggs wrote scripts and that he still wants to turn them into something, though it may not be a television series.[1][2]

The project was announced in 2024, with Paul Giamatti attached to star, and entered development at Peacock in July 2025, according to Dread Central.[2] Roth was attached to write, direct and executive produce the series, which was described as a modern reinvention of the franchise.[2] Bloody Disgusting reported that Roth discussed Peacock’s decision in an interview uploaded to YouTube on August 4, 2026.[1]

The original Hostel film was released in 2005, followed by Hostel: Part II in 2007 and Hostel: Part III in 2011.[1][2] Roth said the scripts he wrote with Briggs may still be developed in another format, but he did not specify what that might be.[1][2]
