Ocarina of Time remake revises the Water Temple

Eiji Aonuma says the Ocarina of Time remake changes the Water Temple’s layout and underwater controls to make the dungeon easier to navigate.

Eiji Aonuma, who created the original Water Temple, says he asked the remake team to adjust the dungeon because of its reputation for difficulty, calling the work “overdue homework,” according to ComicBook.com.[1] The remake changes some walls to open lattice structures, letting players see rooms beyond them and better understand the layout.[1]

The underwater sections remain, but gameplay changes give players more control while swimming, ComicBook.com reports.[1] The outlet also describes updated lighting, including glowing pillars to help guide players, while saying enemy encounters and puzzle designs appear largely unchanged in the footage it reviewed.[1]

CBR reports that the Ocarina of Time remake has repeated the original game’s strong critical reception, though its report provides no review scores or release details.[2] ComicBook.com identifies Aonuma’s comments as coming from an interview, but the report does not specify where or when the remake will be available.[1]
